Dodi tal Lake is located high up in mountains, The
trekking from Dodital to Yamnotri gives a chance to you to
explore through high altitude grasslands and dense virgin
forests. The scenery en-route is really amazing !
Dodital Trek begins from Uttarkashi , which can be
approached by road. Uttarakashi to Agoda is a gradual climb
through forests, fields and villages along. a mule track. The
trek from Agoda to Dodi Tal is slight tough and through thick
forests.
Dodital is a high altitude beautiful lake at a height of 3307
mts - 10847 ft. Dodital lake is situated in between pine forests
with the backdrop of Darwa Bugyal, a high altitude meadow;
Dodital lake has a serene impact on the mind and body. Dodital
has got its name from Dodi, the local name for trout, which are
found in large numbers in the lake. Like most of the high
altitude Tals, Dodital also has a legend name associated with
it. Its great Ganesha !,There is a temple which is devoted to
lord Ganesha.
Trekking : Itinerary
Day 01): Arrive Delhi
Upon arrival at Delhi airport meet Hamara Holiday representative
and then transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 02): Delhi – Haridwar - Sangamchatti
In the morning take a Dehradun Shatabdi Train for Haridwar at
06:55 or drive to Haridwar. Arrival at Haridwar by 11:25 hrs and
then transfer to Sangamchatti via Uttarkashi. The drive takes
you through the beautiful Garhwal Mountains along with the
holy Ganges. Overnight stay at guest house/tents.
Day 03): Sangamchatti – Agoda (2250 mts-7380 ft) – Manjhi
(16 kms-6-7 hrs)
In the morning after breakfast start trek to Manjhi via Agoda
Village. Upon arrival at Manjhi set up camp for overnight stay.
Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day 04): Manjhi – Dodital (3307 -10847 ft) (6 Kms- 3 – 4
hrs)
A gradual zigzag trekk through picturesque landscape of deep
forests and steep cliffs takes you to the mysterious Dodital.
Dinner and overnight stay in the tent.
Day 05): Dodital (3307 mts-10847 ft)
This day is free to enjoy the beauty of Dodital Lake and
surrounding forest. The beauty of Dodital can
attaract any nature lover to camp here for many days , the
beautiful lake, the surrounding dense pine forest, the towering
Darwa Bugyal on one side and
the valley on other is breath taking. The parikrama [ one
round] around the lake is of 1.5 kms. Some streams coming from
Darwa Bugyal feed the lake. Dinner and overnight stay in the
camp.
Day 06): Dodital – Agoda (2250 mts-7380 ft) (17 kms-4-5
hrs)
After breakfast trek down till Agoda. It is just a 17 Kms Trek,
Overnight in camps at Agoda.
Day 07): Agoda – Sangamchatti - Haridwar (6 kms trek +
140 kms Drive)
After breakfast in morning trek down to Sangamchatti and from
Sangamchati drive down to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar
transfer to Railway station to catch night train for Delhi or
drive down to Delhi.
Day 08): Delhi
Arrival at Delhi by morning and then transfer to airport to
catch onwards flight.
