Pabbar Valley : Pabbar Valley is known as Apple country,Fed by glacial ice and pure snowmelt, the river Pabbar rises in the Chanshal
range - just south of Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh. Pabbar River  finally drains into the riverTons at Tiuni, bordering Uttarakhand. Like countless branches reaching out of valleys and down mountain sides, several side streams like the Andhra, Pinjore and Shikri pour their wash into the Pabbar. Beauty of River Pabbar even attracted the British Viceroys of India, who explored, hunted and camped here in the Pabbar Valley. As we know Pabbar Valley is often called "the fruit bowl of India , Pabbar Valley produces 25-30% of the apples grown in the country. A considerable quantity comes from the Kotkhai - Rohru belt Flora - While the areas above permanent snow line are bereft of vegetation, but the areas below support conifer forests of chir kail,spruce fir, neozapine and stately deodar -'the tree of gods' - with massive girth and height. In the lower altitudes there are splendid broad-leafed species - short, stout trees with dense foliage - varieties of oak,walnut, maple, juniper, horse chestnut etc.
The Pabbar Valley cedar - cedrus deodara - is regarded as one of the world's four varieties of cedar, the other three come from the Mediterranean region.Well over two hundred important medicinal and aromatic plants grow in the verdant valleys of Pabbar.

Trek to SARU TAAL is one of most amazing trekking experiances one can have, Saru Tall trek is still unexplored, less known & most beautiful and impressive treks of the Pabbar Valley in District Shimla. On Saru Tal trek, you will traverse the Great Himalayas and appreciate the natural beauty of great Himalayas, See lovely forested valley and the flowered meadows (thatch) carpeted with wildflowers. Mix this with an interest in the variety of birds,wildlife, forest and wild flowers and the great opportunity to view many snow capped peaks .

Important places in the Pabbar Valley

Kotkhai - (1525m 19km from chaita) - The considerable natural beauty of the area is enhanced by the presence of apple, cherry and apricot orchards.
Khara Pathar - (2773m 24km from Kotkhai) A the name indicates, " Khara Pathar " has huge free standing egg-shaped boulders.
Jubbal - (1892m 9km from Khara Pathar)- Jubbal has a superbly maintained palace which was designed by a French architect in the 1930;s and is remarkable mix European and indigenous style picturesque to the point of perfections.
Hatkoti - (1400m 20km from Jubbal) Hatkoti was the simmer capital of the
rulers of the ancient kingdom Hatkoti has some ancient temples and sculptures.
Rohru - (1500m 11km from Hatkoti) this is small but bustling town that lies by
the banks of Pabbar. And of an area whose people are renowned for theirbeauty.
Chirgaon - (15km from Rohru) Scenically enchanting, Chirgaon has the trout
hatchery

Itinerary : Saru Taal Trekk 2009 [ 9 Nights / 10 Days]


Day 1
Delhi to Fagu via Shimla – (300 kms/ 9hrs)
Drive from Delhi at 2130hrs and arrive Fagu at 0530hrs via Shimla. Overnightjourney in 2x2 non a/c coaches

Day 2
Fagu to Base Camp – (120kms/ 6hrs)
On arrival, breakfast at Fagu. Depart from Fagu by 0800hrs. Transfer to the regularmountain coach & drive to the Base camp
at Gadsari, 24kms from Rohru. Lunch enroute at Rohru at 1300hrs. Arrive base camp by app. 1630hrs. After tent allotment, the evening is at leisure.Overnight in tents.(MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 3
Acclimatization day - Trek 6kms/ 3-4hrs
Above village Gadsari is a beautiful countryside of Himalayan Meadows. We trek though the forest for acclimatization.Post lunch for adventure activities and many interesting team games etc. Post lunch, issue of rucksacks for the next days trek. Overnight in tents, (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 4
Trek from the Base camp – Kharshali F R H (camp I) – 2350M (Trek 5kms/ 3-4 hrs)
A very pleasant trek up through densefoliage crossing the streams to Village Kharshali. Camp I is set in a beautiful thatch area above the village. Post lunch enjoy various games / activities. Evening at leisure to explore the camp site. Overnight in alpine tents (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 5
Camp I – Naulti Thach (Camp II) –(3150M) (Trek 6Kms/ 4-5hrs)
After camp I, the route is a lovelygradual traverse through dense forest climbing to Naulti Thach. Fantastic views of the Himalayan range looking towards the scenic Kinnaur area.Evening at leisure to explore the camp surroundings. Overnight in alpine tents (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 6
Day trek to SARU TAAL (3600 M) (Trek 4Kms/ 2-3hrs, one way)
Finest day that everybody will look forward to. Closest views of Mt.Bandarpoonch range of peaks, Mt.Swarga Rohoni. Return back to the camp by lunch time. Evening at leisure to explore the camp surroundings.Overnight in alpine tents (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 7
Camp II – Nyle forest Camp (Camp III) (2650M) Trek 5Kms/ 3hrs
A very interesting descent on the ridge leading down to a thick forest camp of Deodar trees at Nyle. This area is rich in bird life. Evening at leisure to explore the camp surroundings. Overnight in alpine tents(MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 8
Camp III to Base camp via camp I Trek 7Kms/ 4hrs
The route leaves the trail down to village Kharshali and traverses through dense forest to Camp I leading to the base Camp at Gadsari.
Evening at leisure to relax after a successful trek. Overnight in alpine tents (MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 9
Drive Gadsari – Shimla via Fangu (140kms/ 7hrs)
Drive back to Shimla after breakfast at base camp. Lunch enroute at Fagu.Arrive Shimla by 1630hrs and evening free to visit Shimla. Depart for Delhi by 2100hrs. Dinner enroute. Overnight coach journey.(MEALS: BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER)

Day 10 Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi by 0700hrs END OF THE PACKAGE

PACKAGE INCLUDES:

All transportation in non a/c coach as per the itinerary, accommodation in tents on sharing basis, all meals as per itinerary, all camping and trekking equipment’s, guides and services of camp leaders.

EQUIPMENT FOR THE TREK
We provide all equipment for the trek like tents; carry mattress, sleeping bags, rucksacks etc. You are just required to bring your personal clothing & good strong pair of walking boots.

MEDICAL FACILTIES
Facilities for proper medical aid are available at every campsite throughout the trek. However those on special medication or with known drug allergies should bring their own necessary medications.

Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of trek routes keeping safety in mind. Our experienced camp leaders have been constantly visiting the area to check all the details. Stringent safety standards are adhered to strictly, and only quality equipment is used.

CANCELLATION
The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly.

No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request, effective from the date of receipt of letter.
Notice of less than 30 days: Half fee refund
Notice of less than 15 days: No refund.
No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trek or abandon it due to any reasons.

CERTIFICATE
Every trekker will be awarded with a certificate on successfully completing the trek.

NOTES:
1. HAMARA HOLIDAY PVT LTD reserves the right to increase the package price, change the number of days or trek route if the situation so desires due to unforeseen reasons.
2. HAMARA HOLIDAY PVT LTD reserves the right to reject any application.
3. The package excludes any kind of personal expenses such as STD calls,laundry, and personal sight seeing or any such expenses that may arise due to unforeseen events like roadblocks due to landslides etc.
4. All disputes subject to Delhi jurisdiction strictly.
